New eBay User Agreement in Australia

This post is a little late, but it is a very important Post as eBay Australia changed the user agreement on the 10 October and unless you read every single newsletter in detail then you possible are not aware about it..

The first thing you may not be aware of is that if you have not read the user agreement and consequently have not done anything with regards to the user agreement then it is stipulated in the agreement that no action is equal to acceptance of the agreement...NICE..

However if you do not like the new agreement then you need to state so and your ebay id will be removed from the system... even Nicer

The impact of the agreement is that ebay have all these new disclaimers in there to prevent any legal action being taken out against them in the case that some scammer has ripped off a number of unsuspecting ebayers. Hence ebay is not liable for any scammers activity and they cannot be held responsible for not checking / verifying the correct address of the ebayer.

In Europe eBay sent out a snail mail letter to the person and until the person received this at the address then they could not use ebay. This method of verification ensure that the person really lives at the address that is given in ebay. Clearly this is too difficult for eBay Australia to do as it would involve an added expense and reduce the bottom line for the company...
