The last time ebay tried to force australians into a situation was when they tried to force Australians to accept paypal as the only form of payment back in april this year, which saw the largest number of submissions ever to the ACCC, resulting in ebay withdrawing their application but keeping paypal as one of the payment methods which must be offered to buyer. The result of this action saw many people leave ebay in drove to start up a number of other sites such as auctions8.com , bangforbucks as well as trading post starting their own auction site.

What ebay are stating s that this is for a better buyer experience, if the truth be told then the top execs need to improve the bottom line of ebay auction site as the gross volume being sold has not increased despite the number of listings increasing..

ps if ebay had implemented 100 pts of id for each person who registered then many of the problems of scammers would never have eventuated, but ebay wanted the cheapest least involvement by humans so they could maximise profit.. shame.....
